FAQ — GetHempy Tampa Bay Medical Marijuana Guide

Question 1

What is GetHempy?

Accepted Answer

GetHempy is a free directory of cannabis dispensaries and smoke shops across the Tampa Bay area. We list locations, hours, ratings, deals, and directions so you can find the right spot quickly — no account required.

Question 2

Do I need a medical card to visit a dispensary in Florida?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Florida dispensaries are licensed for medical patients only. You need a valid Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR) card issued after a physician certification. See our Medical Info page for the full step-by-step guide.

Question 3

How do I get a medical marijuana card in Florida?

Accepted Answer

You must be diagnosed with a qualifying condition by a licensed Florida physician, who then enters your certification into the MMUR. You then apply through the Florida Department of Health. The process typically takes 2–4 weeks. See our Medical Info page for the full step-by-step guide.

Question 4

Is cannabis legal without a medical card in Florida?

Accepted Answer

No. Florida is a medical-only state. All dispensaries listed on GetHempy are licensed medical facilities. You must hold a valid Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR) card to purchase cannabis from any dispensary in the state.

Question 5

How are the ratings on GetHempy calculated?

Accepted Answer

Ratings reflect aggregated customer reviews from multiple sources. They are updated periodically and are meant as a general guide — we always recommend reading recent reviews and calling ahead before your visit.

Question 6

Are the hours on GetHempy accurate?

Accepted Answer

We do our best to keep hours current, but dispensaries can change their schedules for holidays or other reasons. Always confirm hours directly with the dispensary before making a trip.

Question 7

How do I find dispensaries near me?

Accepted Answer

Use the "Find Near Me" button on the homepage or dispensary listings page. You can also search by zip code or city name, or use the interactive map to browse locations visually.

Question 8

What's the difference between a dispensary and a smoke shop on GetHempy?

Accepted Answer

Dispensaries are licensed medical cannabis retailers that sell flower, edibles, concentrates, and other cannabis products to qualified patients with a valid Florida MMJ card. Smoke shops sell accessories like pipes, papers, and vaporizers but do not sell cannabis itself.

Question 9

How do I submit a new listing or report incorrect information?

Accepted Answer

Use our Contact page to submit a new listing or flag outdated information. We review all submissions and aim to update listings within a few business days.

Question 10

Is GetHempy free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — GetHempy is completely free for users. We never charge to browse listings, use the map, or access deal information.
